The core philosophy: light, line, and landscape

From the outset, our design philosophy was guided by three principles:

• Longitudinal flow: The home is organized along a single, east-west axis, following the land's natural contour. This linear form minimizes site disturbance and frames a series of curated views.
• Filtered light: We treated sunlight as a material. Deep overhangs and a bespoke cedar screen façade filter the high summer sun, creating dynamic patterns of light and shadow that animate the interior throughout the day.
• Threshold blurring: The distinction between inside and outside is deliberately softened. A continuous stone floor runs from the central living area out to a broad terrace, while full-height glazing in key areas turns the surrounding woodland into a living mural.
