This split-level residence utilizes architectural form and materiality to define the boundary between social and private life. Two distinct volumes—a textured concrete base and a crisp white upper level—visually articulate the home’s internal logic.
The lower volume, crafted from board-form concrete, houses the communal living areas and is positioned 60cm below the rest of the floor plan to subtly distinguish these social spaces. In contrast, the upper white volume contains the private bedrooms and utility zones. A grounding stone wall physically connects the structure to the earth, enhancing its integration with the landscape. This deliberate use of materials and levels ensures that the building’s form is a direct reflection of its function, creating a home that is both structurally honest and harmoniously balanced.
